Predicting adsorption isotherms of organic micropollutants by high-silica zeolite mixtures

One framework type of high-silica zeolite only can effectively remove a limited range organic micropollutants (OMPs) from water. In order to extend the OMP removal range, different types zeolites need be combined in adsorption process. this study, Mordernite (MOR) and ZSM-5 (MFI) powders were mixed mass ratios. The performances eight OMPs by mixtures, as well single MOR MFI zeolites, evaluated through batch experiments investigate their behaviors mechanisms. When there was one solute water, isotherms mixtures predicted combining experimental based on ratios zeolites. multi-solute calculated with less accuracy when solely especially case having lower portion more-effective mixture. This could attributed competition for between OMPs.
